While on the Topic of Helping Out...
The other night I brought attention to someone in need in the blogging community and, how that community's rallying to help out. Broadening things out, let's also not forget there are plenty of others out there still in need of help. Thought I'd clear a couple of tabs and put some links out there...

Sending a Little Help Tam's Way
As a little background, I have a routine where every day, on my 3 o'clock break, I head out for a little View From The Porch to sit back and enjoy a bit of the wit, wisdom, and snark from the porch's mistress. I honestly can't remember if I'd discovered her blog through a link at Bob Owens's old Confederate Yankee blog or through spending online time over at Home on the Range.
Although my specific introduction has fled my easily distracted thoughts--squirrel!--what does matter is that I have enjoyed Tam's brief, cut-to-the-chase writings for a couple of years and anticipating her posts often helps me get through some tedious days in the HR Galaxy.
Having just launched my own blog and, still frantically trying to "get up on step," if you will, with all the ideas and thoughts I've been wanting to post, I am pathetically behind in doing my part to gladly help spread word throughout the community about some difficult news she's recently received and the phenomenal efforts folks are going to in order to help her out.
Her prognosis appears fairly positive but, even so, this is a challenge that I am absolutely terrified of ever having to face and would not wish on anyone.
Anyhow, there have been a lot of other folks getting the news out, rallying the troops, organizing things, and saying it much better than I find myself doing at the moment. That said, I'm going to send you over to the HQ set-up at Jay G's place at MArooned in Massachusetts:
