A Big-Assed Tab Clearing

Yeah, okay,I haven't been posting much lately...

I tend to do a lot of my blog and news reading during my breaks at work. I'm very grateful that my employer doesn't really have an issue with this (within reasonable limits); however, as I tend to express political thoughts in a less than exemplary manner on this blog, I do my damnedest to not actually develop my posts while at work. Instead, I go through and note stuff to post about at home via my personal email account as a sort of writing to-do list. I haven't had much free off time and realized that I have a cr#pload of un-posted thoughts and ideas, some of which is getting rather stale.

So, in an effort to clear it all out, here it goes (in roughly a first-in, first-out sort of order):
Let's keep this guy's speech going viral! All the way back on January 24th, Anne Sorock posted over at Legal Insurrection about  how veteran Kevin Tully stood up and delivered a defense of the Second amendments, and why men like him choose to go to war to defend those and other inalienable rights protected by our Bill of Rights

Expressing his concerns over What's Coming, Zercool mentions at Plumbum Et Circenses how "[t]he last time states went toe-to-toe with with  federal government, we ended up with a new lexicon." Among them, Fort Sumter, Antietam, and Gettysburg. He warns us to "[k]eep your powder dry, friends - and remind your representatives that they swore an oath to uphold the Constitution, not a party line."

And, like Yin and Yang, I experienced a balance of watching one action idol fall to hypocrisy, while another reinforced my appreciation.

In a rather neener-neener-neener bit of what should have been schadenfreude, were the stakes not so high, Jammie Wearing Fools brought up how Anti-Gun Nut Cuomo’s Job Approval Plummets 15 Points After Gun Grab Legislation.

The Instapundit brought to my attention how Gun-Controlled Britain Has More Than Double U.S. Rape Rate. He also went on to ask, "[w]hy are Democrats pro-rape?"

The Miller reminded us that:

Commenter tdiinva mentioned in response to this article by Jack Dunphy, over at PJ Media: "I hope that the manufacturers refuse to sell or service firearms and ammunition to anti-gun jurisdictions." I totally agreed and, now it appears, so do others! I also have to wonder why the feds are stockpiling so much ammunition? Personally, the manufacturers really ought not to commit to any new governmental contracts until they can meet civilian need and not the other way around...

Rhymes with Right asked and visually answered, why does she need an "assault rifle"?

In political news, I just have to ask Representative John Conyers (D-MI), "are f#ckin $h!tt!ng me?!"
Via the Instapundit, David Boaz talks Libertarianism (yes!). Among his 10 points, #8: "The most eloquent piece of libertarian writing in history is Thomas Jefferson’s Declaration of Independence, and “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness” is a great statement of the libertarian vision." I this would have been a good one for my Sighting-In series...

Michael Z Williamson takes to his Sacred Cow Slaughterhouse in order to help gun control supporters through the five stages of grief. Worth a read!

But, but... the guns! 1 Dead, 2 Hurt After Stabbing In Downtown Baltimore Near M&T Bank Stadium. I may need to cross-post this under Madness and Mayhem over at If It Just Saves 1...
That evil Dubya Administration! Ace dared to ask the press, "remember Jose Padilla?" in response to such wonderful bits as Justice Department memo reveals legal case for drone strikes on Americans and American drone deaths highlight controversy. Thank god we have President Obama (I guess he and god are one and the same) to discontinue such atrocities!

Michael Walsh discussed a hill to fight on — not a desk to die under in a must read over at PJ Media.
In his PJ Media post, It Was Just My Imagination, the Vodkapundit muses that "[t]he next Steve Jobs or Bill Gates is out on a playground somewhere this morning, being suspended or expelled for “thinking different.”
Wow, I guess I had a few things out there that caught my attention.

Thanks for tuning in!
